The stall at West Bridgford went very well and I'll be looking at doing another one at some point.

The stall will be sited at the main entrance outside of the craft marquee - and pretty impressive it will be too being constructed from my own willow.

If you'd like a special order contact me in advance and then I can bring it to the carnival - you'll save on postage!]]><![CDATA[Willow, slate and now 100% Jute sacks.]]>Sun, 11 Apr 2010 22:26:57 -0800http://www.willow-slate.co.uk/1/post/2010/04/willow-slate-and-now-100-jute-sacks.htmlI've been busy cutting the last of the willow and have plenty to make some great new items including trellis, plant wigwams, bean poles, pea sticks and to develop the living willow sculptures in time for Novemeber 2010 willow growing season.

The slate products are looking good too. I've re-invested in some new machinery so the quality and turnaround time for slate goods has improved.

I'm really pleased with my new lines: Natural sacks that are personalised to your specific requirements, pre-printed or simply plain. They are made from 100% natural jute (aka hessian) and are fully bio-degradable.

March proved to be very busy with a large order to plant over 1,00 willow cuttings and long whips. Pictured - 100 yards completed, 70 more yards to go!

The living willow season is now over and pre-orders are being taken for the winter 09 - spring 10 season.

So its now onto full production for slate products - plant labels are ideal to buy at this time of year.

]]><![CDATA[Willow & Slate is off and pacing...]]>Mon, 16 Feb 2009 02:10:26 -0800http://www.willow-slate.co.uk/1/post/2009/02/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit.htmlWillow & Slate is now legally trading with 10” (25cm) willow cuttings, longer cuttings (known as “whips” at 6ft/1.8m and taller) and willow catkins selling particularly well. Stocks of living willow are currently good but I anticipate these will sell out by the end of the season which is late March.

I’m currently developing a further range of slate products to be available at the start of the general gardening season which is traditionally around Easter… check the website and the blog for the latest news. 

Finally, a big thank you has to go to Kay for all the support she is currently giving to Willow & Slate, our 4 month old daughter and especially to me.

This will also give me some time to make lots of slate labels in a multitude of styles and get the willow cut. The timing of coppicing for the catkin sales is going to be crucial...
